This is exactly what we covered today in Combat Class. How any unnecessary motions slow you down, ie: getting to your target, and give the opponent a chance to adjust their tactics and counter. Like when blocking, use the hands wherever they are and strike from there instead of winding up.

Relax, let go of tension, and focus, clearminded action and the cultivation of chi- definitely aspects of kung fu I will gladly continue to work on for the indefinite future and most likely the rest of my days.
And this was covered in class last night. We saw real life examples of how unnecessary moves can tire you out as well as inhibiting your ability to react in a timely manner.
I love these and I wait patiently for more.
