Burbank Martial Arts – American School of Martial Arts Party!

This coming year, July 20, 2011, I will have been teaching 35 years and in the following year I will have been training martial arts 50 years!!! Wow… I find it hard to believe how much time has gone by … and so quickly!!!

Mr Suh opened our school in the middle 60’s. He taught ten years … and added to my 35, we’ve been offering our skills to the community for 45 years (combined)! Amazing how it all flies by.

This is a symbol for us that, while we feel we have time, time itself is something to be cherished and respected — and made use of. As they say, “time doesn’t stand still”. It doesn’t replenish. It is a perishable without any way in the Universe to replace it! So, make incredible use of it.

Hey, I think this gives good cause for celebration next summer! Watch for the info on our Facebook page. It will show up, I’m sure, sometime in April regarding a huge celebration of such a fine martial art in Burbank!

thank you all,

PGMB

Total = 312 years, and that’s just 18 people! Obviously a few of them are the keys to our system, but I think (and i say this with total respect to the Grand Masters,) one thing we have all learned in that time that seemed to go by so quickly, is how little we really know and how much is still left to learn. Its amazing!

P.S. April marks my 9th year in this school, I think its a great time for a celebration! Ha!

You started teaching two days shy of my two month birthday. I think of the 34 years it’s taken me to learn what I know of life in general and you have that much time just teaching martial arts! My WHOLE LIFETIME! What an amazing accomplishment. Congratulations and my most sincere thanks for the 34 years spent improving hundreds and hundreds of lives, including my own, in every possible way.

Me too. Glad to see you’re fully committed … there truly is a difference between “doing something” and “being something”. Kung Fu isn’t something we do; it’s something we are. That’s a lifetime way. Celebration soooooonn.

A lifetime begins with the first breath of life. And we all are born into this Way. Kung Fu has been my life. I was just waiting for the right place to be to nurture who I am. And this Temple is the right place for me.

Grand Master Baird; Thank you so much for your dedication and passion for the art of Kung Fu. I am planning to represent Wisconsin at your next celebration. There is no other place I’d rather be!
